Antique Victorian Gold Archeological Revival Locket, c.1870. Of oval form, one side decorated with applied rope and wire work, and granulated detail in the Etruscan Revival taste, the reverse finely engraved with scrolling foliage and flowers surrounding a vacant shield-shaped cartouche.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Engraved detail and applied decoration fresh and crisp. Locket closing securely. The handpainted portrait however is showing signs of age.
