Antique Swallow & Wishbone Sweetheart Brooch. Made in Chester, England and dating to 1890-1910, this is a traditional wishbone brooch featuring a finely detailed swallow in flight amongst forget-me-nots and leaves. Popular motifs in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, the wishbone symbolised good luck, the swallow safe return and faithfulness, while forget-me-nots represented remembrance and enduring affection.
