Antique Tiger Claw Pendant, probably Anglo-Indian, c.1870–1900. Mounted in engraved 18ct yellow gold, the natural tiger claw is fitted with a finely chased gold cap and suspension loop. Tiger claw jewellery became fashionable during the late Victorian period and was often commissioned by British officers and travellers in India as commemorative pieces. Traditionally regarded as symbols of strength, courage and protection, these pendants remain highly collectable today.
