Antique Victorian Heart Locket

Antique Victorian Heart Locket. Rolled gold and enamel. The central cross set in a blue, heart-shaped enamel surround. Rolled gold over base metal. The cross was originally set with small seed pearls and garnets. Of these only three garnets and one seed pearl remain.

Whilst it could be said that this pendant has seen better days, it still remains a lovely locket. It has a good shape and weight, it closes firmly and has certainly been loved. There is a some damage to the blue enamel and a bright spark has crudely acid tested the back of the locket to confirm that it is not gold.
