Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Locket, 1880’s

Absolutely charming Antique Victorian Aesthetic Movement Locket, made in the 1880’s. 

The substantial oval locket with hand-engraved and gold inlaid depiction of a waterbird and butterflies in landscape. The Japanese inspired motif was very common in this period, as is the gold on silver inlay technique.

Plain polished reverse with engine turned detail.

Length including bale: 6.5cm.

Width 3.8cm.

Condition: Good vintage condition, with age appropriate scuffmarks and very small dents on both front and back. Closing firmly. Gilt washed interior.
