Vintage Floral Spray Brooch By Simpson, 1950s.
The stylised floral spray set with paste or rhinestones and accompanied by 'Original by Simpson' box
Simpson Jewellery was established by Donald Simpson in Sydney in the mid 50’s. With newer techniques available post war, it was possible to imitate fashionable diamond jewellery with greater success. Simpsons were renowned for not only the quality of their bright clear rhinestones but an innovative way of production using layering and setting the rhinestones in to prong settings backed with rhodium plating.
Simpson’s spray brooches were well made, attractive, affordable and beautifully presented in boxes marked ‘Originals by Simpson’. Donald Simpson later went on to establish Jewel Crest, another costume jewellery manufacturing label. His works were sold in high end retail stores such as Angus & Coote from the 1930's to the early 1970's.

SEDGWICKS pride ourselves on sourcing and selling Antique & Estate Jewellery that is of fine quality and in great condition.
Antique & Estate Jewellery is seldom in perfect or ‘new’ condition as age is inherent for it to be classified as such. Nearly all items we sell are ‘Second-hand’ and will almost certainly show some signs of wear. These may include faint scuffmarks and small dents, even very minor repairs. These are considered acceptable when dealing with objects that have lived a full life. Any imperfections or minor damage will be listed in the description and visible in the photo.
We do ask that you carefully view the photographs provided and note we are happy to supply more images or fuller description if requested.
