Antique Victorian Sapphire Bridge Ring

Antique Victorian Sapphire Bridge Ring, set six across with graduating Ceylon type sapphires, this Estate Ring must have many stories to tell. Dating from around 1900s the ring has been very well loved. It is unusual in that the stones vary in hue, ranging from a very pretty violet blue to a steely blue to a more typical or traditional deep blue sapphire. They probably shouldn't work together but they do!

Condition:The scrolling gallery edge is quite worn. While the ring has a heavy gold mount and there is no structural damage, it is still quite obvious that other rings have been worn on each side regularly. The claws have been re-tipped fairly recently and the stones are secure. The ring has been poorly resized and there are now only remnants of the original hallmarks, being a crown and the letter M
