Peridot, Pearl & Amethyst Suffragette Lavalliere

Beautiful Peridot, Pearl & Amethyst Suffragette Lavalliere. The typically Art Nouveau pendant with curved lines and foliate motifs, and set with two small pearls, a peridot and a pear-shaped amethyst.

Suffragette Jewellery refers to a particular category of jewellery associated with the women's suffrage movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The key elements were the colours green representing hope, violet for dignity and white for purity. The first letter of each colour represented the suffragettes demand for “Give Women the Vote”

Condition: Good quality and in great condition. Non-original, base metal clasp. One pearl replaced but a very good match.
