Australian Opal Pendant, the large free form solid white opal set in a hand-made mount with seven double claw settings. 15ct yellow gold. Total weight 6.7 grams.

White opals, sometimes referred to as milky or milk opals, are distinguished by their pale white or light body tone. As with any kind of opal, white opals can display any colour of the spectrum. White opals tend to be more plentiful and common than black or boulder opal. White opals are found in South Australia in the major opal fields of Coober Pedy Andamooka and Mintabie.

Condition: Excellent, as new condition. The domed opal displaying excellent play of colour with flashes of orange /red and blue green. The back of the stone displaying similar colour but in a different pattern. The surface of the opal is completely free from abrasion and measures 30 x 20 x 6.7mm.
