Art Nouveau Style Plique a Jour Butterfly Wing Pendant by Bernard Doherty.

It is quite rare to see this jewellery form. Developed in the 14th century, Plique a Jour enjoyed a revival in the Art Nouveau period. It is considered to be extremely technically challenging and very time consuming, with only a few highly skilled jewellers mastering the craft. Metal: 9ct white gold.

Weight: 4.5 grams.

Length: 5cm.

Marks: Kangaroo Head for the Gold & Silversmiths Guild of Australia, Markers Mark for Brendon Doherty 'db' and 375.

Condition: Excellent condition. Hung on a 925 silver chain.
