Retro Ruby & Diamond Double-Clip Brooch, 1940s. A striking example of Retro jewellery, featuring an elaborate arrangement of scrolling and folded gold ribbons in contrasting yellow and rose gold. Accented with rectangular-cut natural rubies and graduated old brilliant diamond-set sections in white gold, the brooch is characteristic of the bold, three-dimensional designs of the 1940s.

The two dress clips are secured together by a well-constructed, detachable brooch fitting, allowing the piece to be worn either as a single substantial brooch or as two individual dress clips.

Rubies: 6  @ 2.9 x 2.6 x 1.7mm = 0.75 carat estimated weight

Diamonds: 20 = 1.15 carat G/H Colour, Si/I1 Clarity

Metal: 18ct yellow, rose and white gold

Weight: 35.7 grams

Marks: Unmarked, metal tested by XRF.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. One stone chipped. Damage to rear of brooch. Some compression damage to end of one bar. Wing repaired.
